Summertime Love!

I'm into my second day of vacation (yay!) and the summer (though the weather would have me believe otherwise) has been great.  I can't even begin to talk about all the wonderful things I've been up to this past month, but big breath in...and....

Bought a ninja hoop!

Learning a new hoop trick.  But the fact that I'm no longer ten years old, coupled with hooping for 4 hours, makes for lots of bruises!

Drinking chilly cucumber water with yummy snacks with Michelle, Jill and Erin in Michelle's huge backyard.

Venturing up to Runnymede and St. Clair for the first time (which felt like heading up to Brampton) and sipping wine with Mandy and Hari (they have a treehouse!)

Driving way up north to our now-yearly tradition Great Blue cottage!  Unfortunately Shayne couldn't make it this time, but the rest of the company was fantastic.  Lots of rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits.  Cottage love: hula hooping in the dark drizzle, loons, watching the sun rise, spening the morning with chattering geese, amazing food, campfire, old 90's movies, Mike Myers, giant family style dinner, hooping inside, hammock, BBQ, cider, wine, laughter.

First time doing laundry on College - different world and it threw me off!

Tea party shoot in music garden

Cadillac for father's day lunch

Breaking into my new townhouse complex

Drinks in Daniel and Ryan's awesome new backyard

Father's day dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's place (and enjoying the sun on their flower filled balcony)

BBQ in Erin's backyard, and teaching the girls some hoop moves in the nighttime park across the street.

Kitschy bowling on the Danforth for Mike and Marnie's pre-wedding celebration

Heading to the island again for Daniel's birthday with the same crew (almost) as two years ago!

Watching Dirty Dancing again (haha love it!)

Last day of work (yay!)

Visiting with Erica in Trinity Bellwoods, then helping Shayne with a Capoeira photo shoot (which was amazing!)  I absolutely love watching it, but there is no way I'd ever attempt to try it!

Seeing the Weber Brothers again with Tess, Daniel and Sean at the Cadillac Lounge.

Starting hoop classes with Michelle tonight at the circus!

And my first attempt at taking pictures with a real camera!

Sunday Love!

The mixture of morning sun, singing birds and Sting on the radio completely brought me back to 1996.

Reading all about Judi's travels in India!

First patio dinner of the season at the Beaconsfield with Shayne, Tess & Daniel (and getting mighty stuffed with a delicious curry quinoa veggie burger)

Sandals! Sandals! Sandals!

Hilarious reminiscing with Ange on the subway (so nice running into you lovely!)

Amazing breeze pouring through the window.

Painting my nails springtime yellow.

Farmer's market.

Busting through some shyness and going to my very first hoop jam in Dufferin Grove park.  I now officially have a hula hoop obsession.  Need more hoops!!  Seriously, I wanna be a hoop dancer by the end of the summer!

Kitties curled up in little balls.

Patio dinner at Julie's with Mark & Adam.

Seeing super pregnant Christine & Jenn at Christine's shower.  So nice to see them, and so nice to see them so wonderfully huge! They are due on the very same day (funny, as they are married to twin brothers!)

The wallpaper in Trelawnie's dining room.  It was so gorgeous, it makes the thought of hanging wallpaper bearable!

I am not exactly a morning person, but when I do manage to get myself out of bed at an early hour, it's so great (especially in these pretty, sunny, breezy months)  Last month, Shayne's schedule changed, taking him out of the house by 8am every day, which leaves me with almost two hours of time at home every morning, on my own.

The other day he asked me what I do with that time exactly, and honestly, I really just daydream!  It isn't a lazy thing, its a refreshing recharge thing.  I open up all the windows and get the breezes blowing through our second floor apartment.

I put some music on, make some tea, open up my laptop for some writing, get cozy in front of my livingroom window and relish the view, the breeze, the birds.  When we move next summer, I wish I could take my view and my neighbourhood with me!
